A passionate mountain biker who loves taking on the challenge of long-distance races. "After my accident in 1991, where I almost had to undergo a knee amputation, I had to spend 2.5 years in rehabilitation to be able to walk again. It wasn't until years later that I started mountain biking, and it became a long story of training and participating in races... until I could truly compete against able-bodied racers," said Jean Biermans. He became a world champion in a 24-hour race and a two-time winner of the 36ONE in South Africa. He also completed The Munga, a 1080 km race in South Africa.
Over the years, he has won 12 24-hour races on mountain bikes and road bikes on famous race circuits such as Le Mans, Nurburgring, Zolder and the Felte City crit 24-hour race in Italy. In addition to his full-time job, he cycles about 500 to 700 km weekly. The pinnacle was in 2020 when he managed to ride 31,000 km! Decca is proud to have Jean on board as an ambassador.
